Patrick Rubinstein’s sculptures are the culmination of several years of reflection and research. The artist intended for these works to be conceived as a form of breathing.

In his paintings, movement reveals an image, which then merges with the next, before another one is discovered. In contrast, his sculptures reveal an image, make it disappear, and then allow another to emerge.

While maintaining the kinetic aspect of his work, Patrick Rubinstein sought to create pieces that offer multiple surprises. The breathing of the images is achieved through the transparency of the medium, giving the artwork a floating quality. The solid is highlighted by the void, and vice versa.
